Where is it good for retirees to live in Russia and abroad?

Hello, dear readers of ProfiComment magazine. Today our publication will be devoted to choosing a comfortable and quiet place to live in retirement.
In Russia, a huge country, it is very easy to get lost in its vastness, and when retirement age approaches, you want something more comfortable, so older people quite often change their home.

Where to move to Russia for permanent residence from the north?

Don’t be surprised – this request can be found quite often on the Internet. Soviet-era people, who gave the best years of their lives to the country, want to move closer to warmth and sunshine, preferring a milder climate in their old age.

One of the largest population declines over the past 25 years has been the city of Murmansk - located above the Arctic Circle, this city is famous for its fishing, commercial, and naval enterprises, where they pay very high salaries. It was because of the “northern” or, as they say here, “polar”, that people went to Murmansk to work - there is a very high regional coefficient and it is easy to earn a preferential pension for working in the Far North.

On the other hand, the harsh climate, Polar night, Polar day, low average annual temperature - force people who have earned an early pension to look for a warmer climate.

Here are the most popular destinations in Russia for moving from the north:

  • Rostov region
  • Krasnodar region
  • Belgorod region
  • Voronezh region
  • Stavropol region
  • Volgograd region
  • Saratov region

As you can see, all these regions are located in the south of the country - in the Black Earth Region or in the North Caucasus in the Black Sea region. It is also worth mentioning a new direction - moving to the Far East, which is subsidized by the state (Far Eastern hectare and cash subsidies - a million for those moving).

Below we will look at individual localities where people of pre-retirement and retirement age most often want to go.

Rating of favorable countries in 2019

Those who want to improve their lives do not have to limit themselves to Russia. Options for moving to near or far abroad countries are possible.

Near Abroad

The choice of an acceptable country from among the former USSR republics is not very large. The following options should be considered:

  • Belarus - similar national traditions and mentality, minor language differences, a stable economy and reasonable prices make this state one of the most preferred, where it is best to live out your life in retirement;
  • The Baltic states are one of the most developed countries in the post-Soviet space, with low prices and a resort climate, where it is better to live for a pensioner from Russia. Disadvantages: the need to study local languages, hostile attitude towards Russian-speaking citizens.

Other countries from neighboring countries should not be considered as candidates for relocation in retirement. The reasons for this are the lack of political stability and the unfavorable economic situation in most countries of the former USSR.

Important! It is necessary to take into account the lack of political stability and economic problems of the former Soviet republics when choosing where it is better for a pensioner to live.

Far abroad

In addition to the listed options, it is worth considering non-CIS countries that are characterized by a high standard of living, cheap utilities and high-quality medical care. The ranking of such countries is the following list:

  • Hungary is the most suitable place for Russian pensioners to live in Europe, thanks to the possibility of free travel within Schengen, affordable housing and excellent ecology;
  • The USA is the dream of many pensioners from Russia. This choice is especially real for parents of children who previously emigrated to America. Numerous international organizations help with paperwork and other issues related to relocation;
  • Finland is a quiet, prosperous European state. A fifteen thousand ruble pension will provide accommodation. If health does not allow living independently, the pensioner can enter into an agreement with a nursing home, where the necessary care will be provided. But for such a move it is better to have starting capital;
  • Czech Republic - life is better here for lovers of established traditions and stability. In addition to the Russian pension, an immigrant can qualify for a significant increase through social benefits if he has worked in the country for at least seven years;
  • Austria - in addition to a decent standard of living, this state is characterized by high prices, so moving here is available to people who are financially secure, which will allow them to better live their remaining years, taking advantage of the advantages of a highly developed society;
  • Israel is the most preferred destination for Jewish citizens. In this case, Israeli repatriates can live quite comfortably, with the provision of employment, living space, social guarantees and government support;
  • Brazil attracts lovers of the exotic and warm climate, but it is necessary to take into account that high humidity and the peculiarities of the local mentality, which differs significantly from the Russian one, are not suitable for everyone;
  • Thailand is another exotic place with a resort climate and an affordable budget. It is better for those planning to open their own business to apply for local citizenship;
  • Bulgaria - it is more difficult to find an option better than this, assessing climatic features, the easy procedure for obtaining a residence permit, the availability and quality of medicine, linguistic and cultural proximity with Russia;
  • China – Although many locals are keen to move to the Russian Far East and Siberia, it is worth considering the possibility of emigrating to the Chinese border areas. One of the advantages of China is the state’s respectful attitude towards older people and care for them;
  • Turkey is another option for moving to a resort region with accessible medicine, inexpensive housing and food. Disadvantages - Muslim religion of local residents, expensive gasoline, constant invasion of tourists.

Some countries are listed where it is better to live for a pensioner from Russia, but the list can be supplemented without being limited to these states.

Since moving is always accompanied by fears, numerous location ratings based on the quality of a better life for a retired emigrant can speed up the choice of the right state.

At the moment, the rating can be divided into neighboring and non-CIS countries. Of course, anyone can make a personal rating that differs from this one. See the ranking of the best countries to retire.

Near Abroad

Belarus tops the ranking, of course. Prices in this country are low, everyone knows Russian better, and the quality of food and water is excellent.

You can also consider the Baltic states, where you can also find many Russian speakers, and if the pensioner is wealthy, Moldova and Georgia are suitable. So, the result for the neighboring countries and the CIS:

  1. Belarus
  2. Baltics
  3. Moldova
  4. Georgia

Far abroad

Here we will look at the countries where it is most affordable for a retiree to move. The ranking of non-CIS countries for pensioners to live in is topped by Bulgaria. Warm climate, low prices, language close to Russian. It is absolutely possible for a Russian pensioner to live in this country. Also, a large number of retirees from the CIS move to Serbia or Montenegro. These countries are similar in mentality and language and have affordable prices and living standards.

Residents of Siberia and the Far East can be offered to settle in China, which is not only already a place where people from these regions go, but also an actively developing center of the world. The rapid development of medicine in China also makes it possible to consider it as a region where it is truly better to live in retirement.

Turkey and Egypt can be considered as countries with entire Russian-speaking settlements, diasporas, where knowledge of the local language is not required, and the climate will convince you that it is indeed much better to live here than at home. But it should be remembered that in these countries prices are quite high, and therefore the standard Russian pension may well be insufficient to live normally. So, a short summary:

  1. Bulgaria
  2. Montenegro
  3. Portugal
  4. Serbia
  5. China
  6. Egypt
  7. Türkiye

Where to move in Russia for permanent residence from Siberia as a family?

Also, the population of small industrial cities, which are mainly located in Siberia, the Urals, and the Far East, most often think about moving. There are many reasons for this, but the main one is the rather harsh climate, which is not suitable for all people. And if you take a person of retirement age, especially one who came to Siberia from Ukraine or the southern regions of Russia, it becomes clear that they could not get used to the Siberian frosts.

There are 2 types of migration flows in Siberia:

  • From small towns to regional centers;
  • From Siberia to the South of Russia.

The first flow is rather labor migration, that is, the population who travels to work, for example, from the region to Novosibirsk or Yekaterinburg. But the second direction is mainly for older people going for permanent residence in the southern regions of the country. A lot of information is written in this publication: about moving to Krasnodar.

A lot of Siberians can be found in these cities:

  • Krasnodar
  • Rostov-on-Don
  • Voronezh
  • Sochi
  • Stavropol

These statistics show that Siberians move to large cities more often than to rural areas. Although in the same Krasnodar region there are a lot of medium-sized towns, with a calm, leisurely life.

By the way, in recent years the flow of immigrants has become more diverse, and some people began to prefer regional centers:

  • Anapa
  • Gelendzhik
  • Yeysk
  • Tikhoretsk
  • Armavir
  • Ust-Labinsk
  • Kropotkin
  • Timashevsk
  • Korenovsk
  • Essentuki
  • Mineral water
  • Kislovodsk
  • Pyatigorsk
  • Taganrog
  • Azov
  • Bataysk

There are several reasons for this, but first of all this:

  1. High prices for real estate in large cities
  2. Gas contamination
  3. Traffic jams
  4. Problems with queues at clinics and hospitals
  5. Lack of parks and squares

All these disadvantages inherent in large urban agglomerations are completely absent in smaller towns, which explains the restructuring of migration flows to these places.

Older people prefer peace and tranquility, and therefore the warm climate of small southern towns becomes a pleasant surprise for many.

Old people belong here. Part 1.

Three circumstances prompted me to write this review. First, I see how my mother is aging and what difficulties she faces. Second, I read an article about retirement villages in New Zealand. Third, sociological data.

Every year, the number of people reaching retirement age is growing steadily. Every minute, more than 120 people around the world celebrate their sixtieth birthday. Since 1987, the world's population over the age of sixty has increased by 50%, and in the coming decades these numbers will grow at an incredible rate. According to UN statistics, by 2050 the number of people over 60 years of age should double, increasing to 2.1 billion. That is, the world is rapidly aging.

And if young people, as a rule, tend to live in large cities, then older people do the opposite. The older you get, they say, the more personal time and space are valued. And in a big city it’s not easy to preserve them.

More than 700 cities in 39 countries are now known to have joined the global network of communities working for older people to support healthy, active aging and improve the quality of life for people over 60. These cities are studying the problems of the elderly population in order to change urban space to keep up with demographic changes. And the main task for adapting the elderly population to life in cities is to give such people the opportunity to lead an active lifestyle, that is, to realize their physical, social and mental potential, to participate in the life of society while maintaining safety and having the care they so need.

An age-friendly city means accessible public transportation, smooth sidewalks, no hazards when moving, good street lighting, and public restrooms. And, of course, a age-friendly city is one where they can participate in public life.

It is no secret that often, upon retirement, Russians decide to move to another region or even another country. The criteria in this case are the climate, the political and economic situation, the level of medical development, social infrastructure, the acceptable degree of distance from other family members, the ability to engage in work, and so on.

I’ll say right away that the article will focus on places of life aimed at old people, where the expression “old age is not joy” loses its relevance.

Where is the best place for retirees to live?

Let's talk briefly about this, because in general, those who are interested in this kind of issues already know that life in adulthood is best in Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Japan and Australia. The latter is experiencing difficulties due to the fires, but, according to the authorities, this will not prevent it from maintaining its previous status.

In Norway

one of the highest per capita incomes for the elderly population in the world - about $78,000 per year. The state covers 90% of the costs of examination and treatment, even in a hospital. By the way, the average pension for Norwegian pensioners is approximately 20,000 Norwegian kroner (more than 150,000 rubles) per month. And one more nuance - every Norwegian village has a pharmacy. Norwegian pensioners travel a lot and lead an active lifestyle (skiing, swimming, hiking).

But we must take into account that Norway is an expensive country to live in. Going to the supermarket, spending €200 and not really buying anything is a common occurrence. Services are even more expensive. But a high average salary and a high pension, as well as the habit of saving on everything, save us. By the way, Norwegians usually go to Sweden to buy food.

In Switzerland

, where the average life expectancy is 90 years, retirement after 60 is only the beginning of a new stage of life, when people learn new professions, receive a second and third higher education, or plunge headlong into public life. In other words, they realize what they did not manage to do in their youth.

The life of pensioners in Switzerland is like a fairy tale. Surrounded by the Alps in the cleanest place in Europe. No wars, no politics. The Swiss do not allow migrants into their country and are not members of the European Union.

The average pension in Switzerland is 250,000 rubles, and the country's pension system is among the top ten in the world. The pension law has not changed for 40 years. At the same time, people retire here, just like here: men at 65, and women at 62.

In Luxembourg

– the best healthcare system in the world, and a solid pension and close proximity to the resorts of Spain, France and Belgium allow pensioners to go to restaurants, follow fashion and regularly swim in the sea.

By the way, in Luxembourg, pensioners do not understand what it is like when children help the elderly financially. The accumulated funds are enough for a comfortable life. People retire here at the age of 65, and receive a pension subject to having 10 years of insurance experience. True, you can get out at 57, but to do this you need to have at least 40 years of work experience.

In Sweden

, as is known, is the most socially oriented pension system. Take for example the fact that it is 80% of salary, and on average Swedish pensioners receive $2,000. But even for those who earned little, the government pays $1,050 for spouses and $1,180 for single people in retirement.

Plus, the state has assumed the obligation to provide a subsidy for housing and utilities in the amount of 93%. In addition, in Sweden there are many interest clubs specifically for pensioners, almost all of which operate for free.

In Japan

The largest number of people live who are over 100 years old. According to the latest data, this is more than 40 thousand people. At the same time, the Japanese retire at 65 years old.

And although the pension in Japan is low - about 67,000 yen (about 22,000 rubles), this does not bother the elderly, since the main thing for them when retiring is freedom from work and the opportunity to learn anything - from photography and crafts to foreign languages.

In Australia

the state pays a guaranteed pension to any of its citizens who have reached the age of 65, regardless of length of service and salary level. Even, by the way, if the person did not work at all. The state pension for single Australians is about $1,100 a month, while married couples receive about $980 each. At the same time, healthcare is free for all pensioners, and there is a big discount on medicines.

In addition, Australia has a government program called “Aged Life Care” to support a high standard of living for older people.

Tomaso Campanella's dream come true?

Recently, the number of places in the world equipped and designed specifically for the residence of older people has been increasing. These are states within states. One of these is Sun City, (Sunny City), located near Phoenix in Arizona and built on the basis of a ghost town.

Only elderly people live here, about 40 thousand of them. It has everything you need for a fulfilling life: public swimming pools, golf courses and much more. But there are no young people or children here, because this is not just a city, but a community of retirees with an age limit.

In 1954-55 Jewish emigrant from Minsk Benya Shleifer decided to build a garden city for old people in the Arizona desert. The area of Youngtown - “the city of the young” - that’s what Shleifer himself called the city - then was about 1.3 square meters. km and was designed primarily for poor Americans. Having invested a lot of money in the construction of the project, he then failed to attract the population - no one understood why to go to Arizona and live among people of the same age, but strangers. As a result, the idea failed.

But about 15 years passed, and the idea was picked up by construction oligarch Del Webb: he cheaply bought another 38 square meters nearby. km of Arizona land, and then, first of all, began to build hospitals, swimming pools, golf courses, shopping and sports centers, and only then began to build houses. The advertisement of the new city, with which he convinced elderly people to move from their homes to more comfortable conditions, worked: it was their children who initiated the relocation of their elderly relatives. At the same time, the main condition for resettlement was the age limit - no younger than 55 years. Those under 18 years old can only visit their relatives for a total of 90 days a year.

On January 1, 1960, sales began. Few experts in the United States then supported the success of the project, but on the first weekend more than two hundred and fifty houses were sold, and the number of visitors who showed interest in the settlement and decided to get to know it better amounted to 100,000 people! It was a triumph! Webb, and other developers behind him, began to actively build similar cities throughout the country, and they were located on lands with a mild climate, beautiful nature, convenient transport links and developed infrastructure.

Today there are more than 500 such cities in the United States, the price for a household in them varies from 30 thousand for simple apartments to $1 million with 5-6 bedrooms, swimming pools, garages and other amenities.

A city receives age-sensitive status if at least 80% of households must consist of at least one resident over 55 years of age. That’s why they are called “55+ active adult communities and active retirement communities.” This makes it possible not to maintain schools and child care institutions, which significantly reduces the tax burden on residents of settlements and allows them to receive a number of benefits.

And these settlements cannot be called extended retirement homes with a dull lifestyle. For $450 a year, which is included in the annual maintenance of the village, its residents receive all the joys - from sports to interest clubs. Moreover, as experts say, mutual assistance and understanding reign here, and people are satisfied with life because they lead an active life. Many people here are involved in city self-government on a voluntary basis.

As it turned out, it is very beneficial for the state to have such cities, since it is easier and cheaper in them to provide the elderly with specialized medical care and rehabilitation centers, social support services and transport.

There are special recreational centers in Sun City; they constitute the main infrastructure of the city, there are five of them, and to visit each you need a club card.

Pensioners here move around the city not so much by car as by golf cart. It's electric and requires no gas at all, plus it's easier to park.

We add that the corporation created by Webb alone controls 30 settlements in 10 states. As a rule, the Tranio portal notes, Americans live in retirement cities, but there are also many people from African and Asian countries, Latin Americans and Pacific Islanders. Among Sun City residents there are often emigrants from Germany, England, Ireland, Norway and Poland. "City of the Sun" is open to representatives of all nationalities.

New Zealand version

About 20 years ago, a new direction in the industry appeared in New Zealand - the construction of villages for people of retirement age.

Buildings with several apartments or cottages for two or three families are the best option for those who want coziness, comfort and communication in old age. About 400 such settlements for retirees have recently appeared in the country. This is a very profitable business that is supported by the state.

The area is very beautiful and well maintained. There are main buildings such as a leisure center, shops, cafes or restaurants, and there is always a medical facility where assistance is provided around the clock.

At the same time, a pensioner does not have to buy a house; he can simply rent it, that is, he acquires the right to live in it for the rest of his life. If something happens to the owner, the company returns up to 75% of the cost to the heirs, and keeps the rest for its own benefit. And of course, in addition to the sale itself, maintenance of the village brings constant profit. New Zealanders choose this kind of life because it is easier to serve a smaller territory, and the service company does this, and by a certain age, children and grandchildren grow up and they simply get bored in their homes.

And in such villages there are special programs, events, and interest clubs. The social infrastructure here is very developed, there are social worker services, food delivery, and medical care is available around the clock. In general, all that remains is to invite the settlement employees or neighbors for a cup of tea or just to talk. By the way, the retirement age in New Zealand is 65 years old.

Where do Russian pensioners most often live abroad?

Of course, we are talking about those who are sufficiently wealthy. We are happy to see such Russians everywhere. But, nevertheless, mostly retired Russians prefer to move to countries where it is easier to socialize, that is, where conditions are close to Russian ones and where the climate is milder. Thus, the choice usually falls on the following countries.

Bulgaria.

It has a favorable climate, high-quality and inexpensive living conditions, as well as favorable legislation for foreigners. Renting an apartment in Russia and having a pension, you can live quite comfortably here.

Bulgarians are very hospitable, many speak Russian, and you can buy a house in the village for an average of 1 million rubles. However, there are some medical problems here. With a large selection of medications in pharmacies and affordable prices for medical care (insurance for a year will cost about 150 euros), you are unlikely to be able to get an appointment, for example, with a dentist on the weekend.

Montenegro.

The conditions are very similar to Bulgarian, but it is Montenegro that is recognized as the most environmentally friendly in Europe. Life expectancy here is higher than all European countries. The state is characterized by low prices for housing and food. Cost of 1 sq. meter of real estate is 1 thousand euros, in remote regions - 800 euros.

An apartment with 2 bedrooms can be purchased for about 50 thousand euros, luxury apartments near the sea will cost 165 thousand euros. However, medicine here is expensive. Free treatment is available only to immigrant citizens running their own business in the state.

Serbia.

This country is considered close to Russia not only territorially, but also in religious beliefs, cultural values and language. Socialization for pensioners is easier here, since a significant proportion of the population is Russian-speaking. Here, the same as in Bulgaria and Montenegro, low prices for food and accommodation.

Medicine is insurance, assistance is provided by highly qualified personnel, but the technical equipment of health care institutions is insufficient, which worsens the quality of services.

Portugal.

The state is a member of the European Union and NATO, and has agreements on visa-free visits to over 100 countries. In addition to tourist services, pensioners here are pleased with the developed social infrastructure, medicine, low crime rates and trade.

But, alas, prices for housing and communal services are high. Although you can rent an apartment for an average of 200 euros per month. And, what is important for pensioners, medicine here is not at a high level, there are not enough doctors, so there are long queues to see them. An appointment with a specialist in a private clinic will cost at least 50 euros.

Türkiye.

A common place for resettlement of citizens from Russia and other countries. Turkey provides a residence permit to all persons who have purchased real estate on its territory (price and tenure are not important). Next, the owner issues a residence permit from the country’s Ministry of Defense and receives TAPU, a certificate of ownership of living space. To switch to permanent residence, a citizen must spend 8 years in Turkey under a residence permit.

Turkey has a favorable climate, low food prices and qualified medical care. For 70 thousand euros in Turkey you can buy an elite apartment with 2 bedrooms and furniture by the sea, one-bedroom modern apartments cost about 40 thousand euros. As you move away from the sea and large populated areas, housing prices fall.

In addition, there is a large Russian-speaking population here, and most social infrastructure facilities will provide services to Russian pensioners in their native language. The only disadvantages of living in Turkey are, perhaps, the unstable political situation and the low quality of life in remote regions.

USA.

America is suitable for Russian retirees with high incomes. Usually these are citizens who are actively developing their own business not only in the Russian Federation, but also abroad.

The quality of life here is high: the social infrastructure is developed, medical care is provided by highly qualified doctors, and modern diagnostic methods are used. But the cost of living in the USA is prohibitive for most Russian pensioners. A citizen with an average income is unlikely to have enough money for food and housing for long, even with savings.

Top 5 Russian cities for retirement living

In Russia the situation is somewhat different. Of course, the incomes of many pensioners in our country leave much to be desired, but even in this situation we have something positive to talk about.

According to statistics, based on basic requirements, pensioners in Russia most often choose Belgorod, Ufa, Omsk, Bryansk and Irkutsk.

Belgorod.

The city attracts with its well-groomed and cleanliness, favorable environment, mild and warm climate, as well as good social protection of the population, calm and safe environment, accessibility of medical care and low housing prices. Former residents of the northern regions often go there.

Ufa

.

Ufa is certainly one of the cheapest cities in Russia, as it has low food prices, low monthly rent, affordable medications, as well as cheap car maintenance and benefits and discounts for pensioners.

Omsk.

The city has a well-developed transport infrastructure and affordable medical care. There are excellent social indicators here. According to statistics, this is one of the 5 most crisis-resistant cities in Russia with a climate comfortable for northern pensioners.

Bryansk.

Bryansk is distinguished by low prices for basic food products and medicines. In addition, utility bills are low here and, importantly, the city provides leisure activities for retirees.

Irkutsk

The city offers low-cost housing and communal services for retirees and products at affordable prices. There is generally a fairly high level of social protection and pension subsidies here. In addition, the region produces inexpensive and healthy meat and dairy products.

We'll talk about Moscow another time. For now, let's just say that with the highest pensions in the country, Moscow is not the best city for pensioners.

For those retirees who want to continue working, it is better to choose these regions:

Tyumen.

According to opinion polls, it is the best city for employment and living, including for retirees. The industrial region is distinguished by a high level of income of the population, developed social infrastructure, and medical care.

Kazan.

The million-plus city provides ample opportunities for employment and increasing wealth. The infrastructure, medicine and education are very developed here.

Moscow

. Representatives of various professions can find employment here.

Saint Petersburg

. This city is for those retirees who want to live in the center of culture and art of the Russian Federation, where they can try themselves in the excursion, tourism, hotel or museum field.

Ekaterinburg

. An industrial and scientific center with a developed services market, a high level of medical care and education.

Enterprises in Kaliningrad, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, and Sochi can also provide pensioners with the opportunity to earn money. Based on the amount of income, the highest paid labor occurs in the northern territories: Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Magadan Region.

To be continued. In the next review we will talk about the living conditions for Moscow pensioners.

Cities in Russia that are considered the best for people of retirement age to move to

Many older people view life abroad negatively.
They show their patriotic spirit when they decide to stay in the state that is their native and the best in the world. However, the decision to change residence may be due to financial difficulties or circumstances. In the process of moving to a region where cheap products are combined with good climatic conditions, a Russian pensioner will not encounter any particular difficulties in re-registering pension accruals. This state of affairs allows you to easily improve the quality and standard of your life. When deciding where to spend your old age, you need to pay attention to the main features recorded by the latest sociological research. There are two main options that look like the most acceptable.

  • Moving to the Southern region. Many retirees who do not want to live abroad move to the southern regions for a warm climate. The pension transfer process may take several months. If this barrier is overcome, the elderly person will find himself in good conditions. It should be noted that such a move can be afforded by citizens of large cities who own affordable housing.
  • Moving to the Moscow region. Many Muscovites, upon retirement, decide to move to the comfortable conditions of the Moscow region. If you sell housing in the capital, you can buy yourself a comfortable home in a suburban area of the metropolis, and live comfortably, taking advantage of modern infrastructure conditions. For those who are very tired of the bustle, noise, overcrowding of the capital and its polluted air, moving to the Moscow region will be the optimal solution. A pensioner who wants to make a radical change of residence will receive a large number of benefits from such a move.

If we consider other settlements in Russia as options for moving, then first of all we need to take into account the indicators of the region’s economy, environmental conditions, the degree of development and comfort of infrastructure and social services.

In the list of Russian cities where elderly pensioners enjoy life, Belgorod comes first . In this clean city you can live well on a small pension. The functioning of social protection structures for citizens is well established here. Pensioners who want to work in their old age can find real part-time work here. Also, housing will be relatively inexpensive, and there is an opportunity to use a well-established infrastructure.

When faced with a choice of where to move, you should turn your attention to Ufa . Quite low utility prices are an additional advantage. Payment of utilities per month for a two-room apartment in Ufa will not exceed 3,000 rubles. Approximately the same amount will be spent on proper nutrition. It is also worth noting that medications here are much cheaper than the national average. Decent retirement benefits can completely ensure a comfortable life.

Omsk is attractive for its social indicators. An elderly person upon retirement will be able to live with dignity in a city with a million population. Inexpensive everyday life, good development of social, transport and economic infrastructure, together with favorable conditions for supporting any small business - this is not a complete list of all the privileges of Omsk.

Thinking about where to move

When you are faced with the decision of which state to move to, before choosing the place in which you want to spend your old age, you should look at the ratings published in the press, consult with comrades, relatives and like-minded people. First of all, you need to pay attention to the quality of life comfort and other indicators. These can include:

  • Climate conditions.
  • Prices for housing and utilities.
  • Cost of medicines and food.
  • Improved infrastructure.
  • Well-organized work of social sector bodies.

Many Russian pensioners experience an additional incentive to start a new happy period of their lives when they move. Of course, such a serious decision cannot be made spontaneously; it requires deliberation and balance.

Benefits for pensioners in Moscow

The region's social security department involves private companies in providing assistance to old-age and long-service pensioners. For example, the pharmacy chains “VitaStar”, “Farmadent”, “36.6” provide all pensioners in Moscow and the region with discounts when purchasing medicines. Benefits provided in the capital:

  • social assistance to all elderly citizens;
  • increased pension provision;
  • free travel on all types of public transport, with the exception of taxis and minibuses;
  • discounts when paying for housing and communal services;
  • additional preferences for certain categories of beneficiaries;
  • “Active Longevity” program.

Social help

In Moscow and the Moscow region, the amount of benefits for retired citizens is higher than in other regions. Social assistance is not limited to one-time and monthly payments. Seniors are provided with the following benefits:

  • annual free trip to a sanatorium for medical reasons;
  • free dental prosthetics in public clinics;
  • home care for a person living alone who has lost the ability to self-care;
  • discounts on cinema tickets up to 80%;
  • day stay with a pensioner with health problems;
  • discounts on the purchase of medicines and free drugs for regional beneficiaries;
  • exemption from paying contributions for major repairs after reaching 80 years of age and a 50% discount after 70 years of age;
  • special promotions and discounts for pensioners when purchasing groceries and household chemicals in Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Dixie, and Karusel stores.

Social benefits for pensioners are established by the regional government. The amount of payments, targeted assistance and other types of financial support is regulated by:
